Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Ref22 is pleased to present Jaclyn McKewan on December 8th 2009, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
Jaclyn is the Virtual Services & Training Librarian for the Western New York Library Resources Council. For this month’s Ref22 session she will present on how and why to use online bookmarking tools, specifically Delicious bookmarks and the Firefox Delicious plug-in, to improve the services you provide via online reference. Virtual and physical reference librarians and any library staff that use the internet to regularly answer questions will find this session of interest.
1. Visit http://webj.horizonwimba.com
2. If this is your first time using Wimba on this computer, click “run the Setup Wizard” link. This will run the wizard which installs the necessary files for Wimba to work correctly as well as testing your microphone and speakers.
3. After successful completion of the Setup Wizard, click “Participant Login”
4. Enter “Ref22″ (without quotes, with capitalization) in the Room ID field.
5. Enter your name and library (ie Jeremy WSL) in the Name field. Press enter to accept the information. Please note: there is a limit of 16 characters, including spaces, for the name field so please try to abbreviate if possible.
6. After successfully logging into the Wimba interface, you see a short list of links on the left side of the screen, select “Ref22″ to enter the live session.
